A Prescription for Education and Pain Relief

In the May 2010 issue of MD News - San Antonio/Austin, Dr. Donald Bacon, MD talks about how he is partnering with Dannemiller to educate physicians and patients on the best treatment options for patients from chronic pain. Norm Miller of MDNews interviewed Dr. Bacon and Dannemiller to see how our partnership would bridge the gap in physician and patient education to provide for better treatment of chronic pain sufferers.

This partnership sees one mission right away, help physicians understand the impact of the undertreatment of pain. Treating pain has many avenues including the proper use of opioids, but the future holds promise that we may someday focus more on correcting the pathology of pain through correcting the abnormal pathways that occur after injury. These events will most likely require neuromodulatory techniques to include spinal and deep brain stimulation.
